Methodological Foundations of Sample Surveys of Wholesale Trade Enterprises

The article shows the main principles and approaches to solving methodological tasks of sample observations in statistics of wholesale trade of Ukraine. Detection of regularities and tendencies of changes in the development of the wholesale turnover in general volume as well as on separate commodity groups by regions is one of the main aims in organization of sample statistical observations of the wholesale trade enterprises. The authors offer a number of methodological principles relating directly to sampling design, which should be taken into account while developing methodological support of sample observation of the wholesale trade enterprises.

The author gives some recommendations on taking measures to guarantee the proper legislative, organizational and institutional foundation for the development and introduction of the system of measurement of social service activity in Ukraine.

The paper provides the analysis of main tendencies in using the water resources in Ukraine over the period 1980–2006. Changes in the structure of fresh water use by direction are revealed. The article also shows differentiation of water intake and consumption, and substantiates the ways of saving the water resources.

Application of the Correlation Analysis Method for Estimating the Influence of Foreign

and Domestic Investments on Economic Development of Ukraine

The article considers theoretical and practical aspects of application of correlation analysis methods, which make it possible to study the influence of foreign and domestic investments on the economic development of Ukraine. The simplified methods (calculation of rank and linear correlation coefficients) allow determining availability and tightness between each factor and effective indications. The multiple correlation methods allow estimating common influence of factor indications on the effective one as well as a degree of influence of different factors.
